Week 2 Tutorial - Making a Scene in Unity
The objective this week was to take the 3D models made in Blender, as well as additional models found online, and import them into Unity to create a scene.
My scene made in Unity using 3D models made in Blender as well as free online models.
This scene is comprised of the Barrel model and Mawson's Hut model that I modelled in Blender in the previous week. Due to my lack of familiarity with shaders, especially in Unity, the Mawson's Hut has unfortunately lost its wooden plank pattern and is just using base colours at the moment.
The online models I found are the Imperial Penguin by Felis Chaus and the Snowed Fence by Justwo. I thought they'd be suited to a chilly Antarctic theme. I realised that the penguin had some animation clips, so I thought it would be cool to have the scene in motion. I added a very basic script to the penguin so that it would run around. To make it a little more interesting, I also added a particle system so that it would snow (although technically Antarctica is a desert so this is taking creative liberties).
